Description

San Diego has always been considered a military town. We will explore just how far back that characterization goes. Using photographs from San Diego’s past, accompanied by a lively narrative, local historian Rudy Shappee will take you on an enlightening romp through some of our city’s lesser-known military history. Among many topics, Rudy will discuss the role the U.S. Army played in the development of the city and how North Island became known as the birthplace of ARMY aviation.
