By using striking combinations of metal, wood and stone, Frank Gehry’s early work was a reaction against cold, formulistic modernism. He designed such iconic buildings as the Guggenheim Museum and the Disney Concert Hall. Gehry achieved world class status as a postmodernist and deconstructionist, but his work embraces much more. We will discuss Gehry’s life, the evolution of his unique style, and the controversies which characterize his long and prolific career.
