1619. Four hundred years ago and a significant time. The Pilgrims – who were to come to the New World a year later – were in Leiden, Holland. Many of them lived in an area known as Rubbish Alley. They were simultaneously looking back at their lives in England and looking forward to a long voyage, a new beginning, and an unknown world. Join storyteller Marilyn McPhie the week before Thanksgiving to take a look at the Pilgrims. What letters would they have written from their homes in Holland? What were they thinking? What would they wish us to know? And what stories would they tell each other as they sat of an evening around the fire?
