Description
Marc Chagall used a deeply personal iconography in his paintings and explored subjects of exile and loss. His images draw on Biblical themes, traditions of Jewish life, and on contemporary avant-garde developments in Europe at the time, such as Fauvism, Surrealism, and Cubism. Uprooted and floating dreamers, and lovers populate his compositions. This course explores Marc Chagall as a person and as an artist.
