Description
A new generation of artists emerged in Britain and the U.S.A. in the mid- to late-1950s. They drew inspiration from their immediate environment, fascinated with popular culture which they mirrored, critiqued and sometimes incorporated into their work. Pop Art showed that art could be modeled on any source, even consumer products. This movement dominated the American art scene in the 1960’s and its influence can still be seen today.
