The Stratemeyer Syndicate created many of the most popular series for young people, including the Hardy Boys, Tom Swift, the Bobbsey Twins, and the Happy Hollisters.  Experience led them to detail a formula for outlines provided to ghostwriter.  These outlines evolved over time and may serve as inspiration to writers who are “planners.”
