Description
This class will review the life of the Buddha, examine the early development of divergent Buddhist schools, and the cultural impact of the spread of Buddhism. The class will consist of a lecture with class participation and Q&A followed by a short break. After the break there will be an optional period of meditation instruction.
Instructor: Kathy Hassett MS is an ordained Buddhist and Taoist Priest. She served as the 2nd Vice Abbott of the Lohan Spiritual and Cultural Center Las Vegas NV 2004 – 2015. Her secular career include teaching at the high school level (12 yrs.), employment with a large multinational corporation developing training and unit audits for North American accounts (25 yrs.) and as a technical publisher for a DOD contractor managing the Nevada Test and Training Range (3 yrs.).
