Once one of the most affluent African American communities in the United States, this Tulsa, Oklahoma neighborhood was the site of a vicious massacre in 1921 that left hundreds dead and a thousand homes destroyed. We will explore the rise and rich history of this community, known as “Black Wall Street”, and learn how it culminated in death and destruction.
