Description

Learn the basic steps needed to create a well composed still life painting. We will cover how to place objects in space, block in colors and the effective use of shading and proportion needed for a well balanced painting. Brushwork (how the paint is applied), color relationships and the modeling of forms will be emphasized. Working from direct observation with still life, you will learn to translate three-dimensional space to a two-dimensional image. Students can choose to paint on canvas, on board or paper.
