Many believe our nation is more divided than at any time since the Civil War. A survey presented last summer by the Economist showed 40 percent of Americans believe it is at least somewhat likely our nation will engage in a hot civil war within the next 10 years. A Washington Post-ABC News poll released in November showed nearly 90 percent believe there is an increased risk of violence due to political divisions.
