Description
1968 was without a doubt the most significant and tumultuous single year in American history. While other single years produced important events and moments, like 1776 or 1945, not a single month seemed to pass without a major event that shook the nation to its core. Starting in January 1968 we will explore the nature and meaning of these events from the Tet Offensive and the changing course of the war in Vietnam to the spring and early summer assassinations of MLK and RFK to the political chaos of the late summer Democratic convention in Chicago to the arrival of Black Power at the 1968 Olympics.
