The Weekend and how it’s Changed our Concept of Work and Leisure: Aristotle wrote, “We work, in order to have leisure.” TGIF is the mantra of Americans of every age. Quotes abound on the joie de vivre of the weekend. So how did it come to be that we work Monday thru Friday and unwind on Saturday and Sunday? Is the workweek and weekend based on religion, labor, politics or economics? In some countries, the four-day workweek is becoming the norm. Thirty percent of current remote workers never want to go back to the office. With many working remotely, is the weekend still a thing or has it forever changed?
