Description
Imagine your pencil point is actually touching the edge of the object you are drawing. In this fascinating drawing exercise, the student fixes their eyes on the outline of the subject, then tracks the edge of the object with their eyes, while drawing the contour very slowly, in a steady, continuous line without lifting the pencil or looking at the paper. This is blind contour drawing. It may not produce a lifelike drawing, but it can help you draw more realistically, rather than relying on memorized drawing symbols as the eye and hand work as a team, inviting you to see all of the details of the object.
Students will need to bring the following:
Drawing Paper: Sketchbook Size 9”x12” or larger
Graphite Pencil sizes 2H, HB or 2B or
Ballpoint Pen or Micron Technical pen sizes 01, 02
Masking Tape
