Description
Vincent Young will play, sing, and discuss the pop standards, movie songs, and show tunes that comprise the set list for this performance, including the pop ballad, “Somewhere Along the Way,” a hit for Nat King Cole at Capitol Records in the mid-1950s. The music of Nat King Cole, his daughter Natalie, and jazz musician John Pizzarelli provides the basis for his performance. For Vincent, each time he hears this music he perceives it as “ wonderfully fresh and new.” Vincent began banging on piano keys at age 18 months, played in the Poway High School jazz ensemble, and continued jazz piano studies at Palomar College.
