Description
February is Black History Month, and this lecture will celebrate African American artists who have helped shape the visual culture and art evolution of the United
States but have not been recognized for their work. Artists we will look at include: Henry Ossawa Tanner, Edmonia Lewis, Horace Pippin, Jacob Lawrence, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Faith Ringgold.
