Description

The current revival of 19th century alternative photographic processes has opened a world of possibilities for making light sensitive images without a traditional darkroom. Artists and photographers are embracing the Cyanotype process (aka: blue printing) because of its exciting potential for combining traditional mediums such as painting, printmaking and collage.

Using SunPrint, a pre-coated light sensitive paper, one can photogram such items as flora and fauna from the garden, cooking utensils, other household items, plastics and fabrics or any semitransparent objects. Once the print is dry, hand-coloring with pencils, watercolors, and acrylic paints can be applied to further one’s creative expression and art making possibilities. All of this without a darkroom!
