Description

Watercolor Painting for the True Beginner will introduce students to the delights of working with color and water. To get started we will learn about types of watercolor paints, paper and brushes. You will learn how to hold the brush and mix colors. We will create watercolor washes and learn some fundamental concepts including hue, value and saturation, warm and cool colors and color mixing techniques. Students will create a floral wreath in watercolor using the techniques we learn.

Members will need to bring the following:

Watercolor Paints
-If you already have a set of primary color paints, you don’t need to buy a new set, just bring what you have. Though, please bring tube colors. If not, quality paint pans are okay.

Paint Brushes
-Round Tip Brushes by Princeton Series Heritage (4050 Sizes 2 and 6 Synthetic Sable Hair)

Paper
-Strathmore Watercolor Paper Tablet (9”x12” 140 lb. Cold Press)

Miscellaneous Supplies
-Artist Masking or Painters Tape
-Watercolor Sponges
-Plastic Cling Wrap

San Diego Oasis has a limited supply of brushes, markers, palettes, rulers and other miscellaneous materials for you to use.
