David Hockney is considered one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Born in Yorkshire, England he lived and worked for decades in Los Angeles. His paintings with their ultra-saturated colors capture the intense sunlight of L.A.  Hockney, who had his first one-man show at the age of 26, continues to show his work to this day.  He is known for his colorful paintings, photo collages, stage designs for operas, fax and iPod drawings and his study of the optical devices used by the Old Masters.
