Description
With the arrival of Europeans native peoples on both coast and for hundreds of miles inland were forced to cope with a set of cultural values, religions, and economies that were foreign to them. The French, Spanish, and English took differing paths towards colonization and subjugation of indigenous peoples. In turn the affected tribes varied greatly in their responses to the new intruders. Through a review of colonial designs and tribal reaction we can better understand the dynamics and outcome of American colonization.
