Description

The 1600’s were a time of great turmoil in Europe. In this presentation we’ll look at how Europe emerged out of the devastation of the Thirty Years’ War to enter a new age of almost unprecedented intellectual and artistic recovery. We’ll also discuss some of the new ideas that a century later would foster the notion of national revolution and revolt. But we’ll also briefly look at the undercurrent of political movements that threatened to derail this progress toward the close of the Seventeenth Century.
