Description
Current Issues in Global Justice This course introduces the concept of global justice focusing on three issues in international politics today: sovereignty, immigration and citizenship, and “just war.” Suggested readings include scholarly articles and news accounts of today’s wars in Europe and the Middle East, migration policies in the U.S. and Europe, and international humanitarian law and action.
Session III. Immigration and Citizenship. We do not live in a borderless world. Yet people cross borders and relocate to other countries every day. How is this dynamic governed? Why has it become more problematic in recent decades? What is the place of individual justice in global justice?
