Description

Hilma af Klint, a a Swedish artist and mystic, began creating radically abstract paintings in 1906. They were like little that had been seen before: bold, colorful, unlike anything seen in our physical world. It would be years before Vasily Kandinsky, who has been credited as the pioneer of abstract art, would create abstract artworks. This lecture will explore the life and abstract works of Af Klint, who up until 1986, had not shown any of her work.
