Description
In this class students will learn how to make marbled paper. Marbling is an ancient art form where colored paints are floated on a viscous liquid surface and then transferred to paper or fabric, creating unique, swirling patterns that mimic the look of stone. The instructor will demonstrate a variety of methods of how to apply paint on the size, how to manipulate the paint with various tools to create interesting patterns as well as how to lay down the paper onto the size.
Various uses for the paper will be discussed. Materials such as sheets of paper, bookmarks, etc. will be provided by the instructor. You may bring a small item to to marble if you wish. All supplies will be provided.
