Description

Reading for the Next Chapter is a book club for readers who think before they speak and prefer depth over casual talk. Each month we’ll read a fiction book exploring life transitions: reinvention, identity, loss, second chances or starting over at midlife and beyond. Discussion questions are shared in advance so you can arrive with your thoughts already formed, not put on the spot. This group is designed for introverts and anyone who prefers a thoughtful, low-pressure pace over a fast-moving crowd.

Britt-Marie Was Here — Fredrik Backman (2015) After discovering her husband’s infidelity, awkward and well-organized Britt-Marie finds herself in the town of Borg, working as a caretaker at a run-down recreational center, becoming increasingly involved in the disorganized, unruly lives of the townsfolk, eventually coaching the local children’s soccer team. A perfect portrait of a repressed, deeply introverted woman forced to open herself to the world.
