Description
Calls for the Supreme Court to intervene in disputes about partisan elections raise big questions about judicial legitimacy and involve difficult tradeoffs between protecting democracy and judicial restraint. Focusing on several past examples, including Bush v. Gore and the recent Colorado ballot exclusion case, this class will equip students to understand the stakes involved– as the country faces the 2024 election.
