Description
Hear the stories of thirty-seven refugee women that describe the terrifying consequences of war and the circumstances of fleeing their home country; the harrowing journey from harm to refuge, which could include fear, torture, rape, panic, loss of loved ones, hunger, and persecution; adjustment to refugee camps or temporary housing; and resettlement in San Diego. Also included are brief histories of the fifteen war-imparted countries from which these resilient women had to flee (e.g., Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Cambodia, DRC, Liberia, Somalia).
