Description

The Digital Revolution, aka the Information Age, aka the Post-Industrial Revolution is the transformation that we are experiencing in our time.  This transformation has its roots in the 1940’s with the invention of computers, but probably begins in the 1970’s with the development of the microchip that led to personal computers and the application of micro-processors in a wide variety of fields.  Improvements in computing capacity have enabled the processing higher volumes of data and increased the productivity of individual workers.  The digital age has transformed the way we live.  This lecture is about the history of computers, the innovators that invented them, and how computers have changed society.  This is a story of innovation.
