Description

The Aztec capital city of Tenochtitlan fell on August 13, 1521 to Native allies, Tlaxcalans, Totonacs, and other Nahua groups from the region. The infamous Guns, Germs, and Steel book depicts the Spanish as responsible for the fall of the Aztec Empire while neglecting the superior number of Indigenous Allies that rebelled against Aztec hegemony. We will examine how Indigenous Resistance led to the defeat of the Aztec Empire.
