In my previous two classes on the New Testament (not required for this class), I provided an overview of the entire New Testament, focusing on the Gospels of Mark, Matthew, and Luke. This series is designed to introduce a modern scientific approach to studying the Gospels, helping us see what we can confidently know and what remains uncertain from a historical perspective. In this session, we’re excited to focus on the Gospel of John, often called the “Maverick Gospel” due to its unique features, and also delve into the Historical Jesus. Together, we’ll discover what we can genuinely understand about who Jesus was.
