Description
The history of popular American music from Revolutionary times to the present includes church Psalms, America’s first symphony, and the beginning of Ragtime, Jazz, Blues, and Swing to today’s Rap. Musician Greg Feldman will discuss the highlights of this musical history and play selections from various musical categories. He will also provide an overview of the technological innovations that helped popularize American music such as the invention of the radio, the phonograph, CDs, and the iPhone.
