Human societies have undergone five transformations in pre-history and history. In the 21st century we are at the threshold of the sixth transformation. I call this the Transcendent Revolution. In this lecture we will consider how technology will change the way we live, work, and relate to other people. With the advent of biotechnology and information technology we have increased the powers that humans have over nature. We have become like gods. What will we do with all that power?
