Description
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 –1791) was a prolific and influential musician who composed more than 800 works during his 35 years. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in history and is admired for his music’s melodic beauty, its formal elegance and its richness of harmony. At age five he was playing the keyboard and violin, had begun to compose, and was performing before European royalty. At 17, he was a musician at the Salzburg court but grew restless and traveled in search of a better position. While visiting Vienna in 1781, Mozart settled in Vienna, where he achieved fame but little financial security. Mozart composed over a dozen piano concertos and four operas including Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute and Requiem.
