Marty Judge watched authoritarian regimes develop around the world from his office in the U.S. Department of State for a dozen years. In this class he explains how
modern-day authoritarianism was developed by Mussolini, Hitler, and Stalin and the trend away from democracy and toward authoritarianism today. A survey of democratic practices of 85 countries by Freedom House showed that last year 25 countries had improved democratic practices while 60 were turning away from democracy.
