Description

Richard Rodgers is arguably the greatest American theatre composer of the last century. Even without the lyrics provided first by Lorenz Hart and then by Oscar Hammerstein II, Rodgers’ music sings and dances for itself. His music included Broadway and film overtures to orchestral suites including “Pal Joey,” and “The Sound of Music” to ballets such as “Slaughter on 10th Avenue” and “On Your Toes” and even orchestral works like “Victory at Sea”.
