Description
In many respects, the Neolithic or “New Stone Age” Revolution was the most important revolution in the history of humanity. It was at this time, about 10,000 years ago, that certain pockets of humanity abandoned their nomadic wanderings for the far more settled and predictable life of the farmer. And it was from the small, temporary villages founded by these early farmers that the great civilizations of the Ancient Near East would eventually evolve. This lecture will explore how and why this so-called “Revolution” occurred and then explain how and why these “temporary villages” evolved into the flourishing civilizations of the Ancient Near East.
