Description

Ephesus rose from a Greek settlement to one of the ancient Mediterranean’s greatest cities. We will follow its story from the Temple of Artemis through the arrival of Roman power under Augustus, when Ephesus entered its golden age. Yet changing trade routes, a disappearing harbor, and centuries of abandonment eventually buried the city. This presentation explores how Ephesus was built, lost, and ultimately rediscovered by modern archaeology.
