In the 21st Century we are at the threshold of the sixth transformation. I call this the Transcendent Revolution. In this lecture, we will forecast the near future and consider how technology will change the way we live, work, and relate to other people. Humankind has solved many of the problems that have plagued people in the past. With the advent of biotechnology and information technology we have increased the powers that humans have over nature. We have become like gods. What will we do with all that power? This lecture will involve a discussion how humans will handle longevity, artificial intelligence, genetic manipulation, happiness, our fellow species, modernity, and new religions.
