Marc (Moyshe) Chagall the world renowned artist and Bella (Belotshka) Chagall, the writer, both drew their creative inspiration from the world of Vitebsk where they both were born. The lecture will look at how Vitebsk, its Jewish and non-Jewish culture (music, Yiddish, Orthodox church, klezmer, Khasidim, Czar, etc.) influenced their artwork and the lives they lived in Gordes, France.
