Description
Over the decades some U.S. cities have expanded in population and jobs, while others have stagnated and even declined leaving behind high rates of housing vacancy and unemployment. The class will examine the theory and reasons for urban employment and population growth and decline and the adverse and positive impacts on our everyday lives. This class will draw on the experiences of Baltimore and Los Angeles, two extremes of the growth spectrum.
