Description
What can we learn about history from historical novels? We will discuss how a well written novel can help us better understand the dramatic events that shaped our nation first-hand. During the lecture, Blaine Davies describes a list of US historical novels organized by important eras in US history and by their historical accuracy. After all, history is a lot more dramatic when you explore it from a “present” perspective when the people alive at the time took huge risks not knowing the outcome in advance.
