Description
Designed for the beginner or anyone wishing to brush up on their watercolor skills, this painting class is an artistic learning experience focused on techniques and principles of using watercolors as a medium for creating art. Techniques used are wet on wet, wet on dry and glazing techniques. Step by step demonstrations and exercises allow the students to develop their skills. Come and have a great time exploring the wonderful world of watercolor!
You will need to bring the following items to class:
- Watercolor paint (Winsor & Newton Cotman): primary colors (red, yellow, blue)
- Watercolor paper- cold press, 140lb 11”x15” (or 22”x30” to cut into quarters)
- Drawing gum
- Watercolor brushes, mini 3 different sizes:
- flat No.1
- round No.8 or 6
- round No.1or 2
- PLUS one old used small brush for dipping in masking fluid
- color palette, mini 8 wells
- painting board, mini 12″*16″ (you can get this at HomeDepot — ply wood, or plexiglass)
- painter’s tape
- pencil and eraser
- spray bottle (optional)
- large plastic cottage cheese/yogurt/sour cream container for water
- utility knife
