This ongoing series will use examples from movies, TV, and books to highlight different archetypes and their role in crafting a satisfying story with universal appeal. This session will focus on the Villain archetype, which is the antagonist of the story whose motivations and actions oppose the Hero and drive the story’s plot. A Villain is the opposite of a Hero. In contrast to the Hero, a Villain is usually compelled by a desire to commit acts of cruelty and immorality.
