Over his 28 years combined active duty and reserve time, he learned to use English to reward and promote his people through craftily written evaluations and award nominations. He refined his skills while working for 18 years designing tactical war games for the Navy here in San Diego.
While there, he spent countless hours writing fictitious operations orders, intelligence reports and news stories to bring training scenarios to life for the student war game players. Additionally, he honed his editing skills to perfection as he assisted in reviewing and editing documents created by the other 80+ members of the war gaming team.
