Description

It was 1692 in Salem, Massachusetts.  Trouble was brewing.  Accusations of witchcraft surfaced and swirled around and through the community.  In the end, thirteen women and six men (and two dogs!) were hanged.  A man was pressed to death under heavy stones.  And the reverberations have continued for more than three hundred years.  Join storyteller Marilyn McPhie for tales of a terrible time – the accusers, the accused, the executed, the survivors, the law, the clergy, the possible explanations, and the dark legacy.  (With ancestors on all sides of the tragedy, Marilyn has always been “bewitched” by this history.)
